Ayurveda & You

An Introduction to Ayurveda

With Rachel Cama

Saturday, March 3, 2-4PM

Cost: $20

Ayurveda (pronounced eye-your-vay-da), the "sister" science of yoga, is the oldest system of natural health care in the world.  Born in India, it has been practiced continually for over 5,000 years.  Emphasizing disease prevention and self-care, the word ayurveda means "the science of life."  Through diet, lifestyle and physical practices, an individual can learn to balance the elements of water, fire and air in their lives, leading to lasting wellness.

Ayurveda is easily applied to your life––it is a system of health care, not sickness care.  You will learn about simple tools that can help you heal…all complimentary to yoga.

This two-hour workshop will consist of a lecture presented in a friendly, approachable format followed by discussion.

About the Instructor:   In addition to her extensive training as a yoga teacher, Rachel Cama has formally studied Ayurveda at The Himalayan Institute, where she was in residence for a year.  She has also completed Yoga on Main's Ayurveda certification program, studying with renowned Philadelphia-area teacher Ed Zadlo, D. Ay (Acharya Premanand).
